Sustainable production
Manufacturing according to customer requirements
Per kilometre travelled, an e-bike emits on average 15 times less CO2 than an electric car. The emission savings compared to a diesel engine are almost twice as high. By now, everyone is aware that e-bikes are a much more environmentally friendly means of transport than cars. But how sustainable is the production of e-bikes? In a series of articles, we would like to shed light on the production of our bikes from different perspectives and share our thoughts on the sustainable development of production. In which areas of production can we become more sustainable and what are we already implementing?
Our core philosophy, ‘Your bike. Custom made,’ helps us in our efforts to not only sell a sustainable product, but also to make the production process itself sustainable. This means that our production is based solely on customer requirements. Only after the bike has been configured and all components have been selected do we set to work in our factory to manufacture the customised bicycle or e-bike. The custom-made principle also helps us to avoid overproduction. It also minimises the risk of components being replaced and discarded after purchase, thus ensuring a more sustainable use of resources. This feature is unrivalled in the industry and makes us a unique brand.
